You can use the Samples in your personal projects distributed independently, like beat tapes or mixtapes, without further obligation. If you plan to sublicense, sell, or distribute your Recording through third parties or if your Recording gets over 1,000,000 streams, you need to obtain formal clearance as described below.
When do I need to get formal clearance?
Formal clearance is required if:
• You plan to commercialize your Recording through third parties like major or qualifying independent labels, sync agencies, etc.
• Your Recording achieves over 1,000,000 streams on any digital service platform.

What does "Major Record Label" and "Qualifying Independent Label" mean?
• Major Record Label: Includes labels affiliated with major distributors like Sony, Universal, or Warner Music Group, or those distributed by these labels.
• Qualifying Independent Label: Any label not categorized as a Major Record Label but has distributed albums with significant streaming numbers (100,000 streams in a month or 1,000,000 in total).
