J-Zone’s profile as a session drummer has steadily risen over the years. He’s recently done sessions for Binky Griptite (Daptone), Easy Eye Sound (Dan Auerbach) and Adrian Quesada (The Black Pumas). Stretching beyond hip-hop, Zone’s appearance on Latin, soul and rock recordings diversify a list that already included heavyweights like Lord Finesse, Danger Mouse, DJ Nu-Mark, Showbiz and Pharoahe Monch. J-Zone’s previous break kits have been sampled by Madlib, Alchemist, Marco Polo and countless others.
