Polyphonic Music Library - Japan

Description

Introducing "Library Breaks”—an original collection of royalty-free drum breaks from Polyphonic Music Library, created by Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum producer Mario Luciano.

“Japan” is a set of 15 original analog drum breaks exploring the textures and grooves of Japanese soul, electro, and fusion recorded between 1975–1981. Drawing inspiration from the late-’70s to early-’80s golden era of Japanese music, each break delivers its own distinct texture, character, and swing—complete with fills and ghost notes to avoid repetitive patterns. With over 120 kick, snare, hi-hat, percussion, and other one-shots—processed through analog tube gear, tape machines like the Ampex 440b, drum machines such as the Roland CR-78, and vintage reverbs including the RE-201, EMT 140, and natural room verbs—this collection captures the raw grit and authentic feel of classic electro and jazz fusion recordings. Perfect for sound designers seeking fresh cadences and rhythms beyond the traditional 4/4 click, “Japan” offers vibrant breaks to spark new ideas and chord progressions.
